| The first in a breakthrough idea for using matte board
for lamp shade construction, Mr. Miller was temporarily obsessed by
the possibilities of this colorful and adaptable material. |

Shown is the first of two arm identically designed chairs, this
was the first seating that Mr. Miller created that did not rely
on 4x4s and large armrests as design elements. In addition, the
chairs of this series were actually comfortable.
Earlier prototype arms, as patrons of Mr. Miller can attest, were
notorious for causing bruising of the legs and splinters.

After years of living with an uncomfortable and ugly couch, Mr.
Miller set out on his most ambitious couch design. A full length
couch of a similar design is also nearing completion, and upholstry
refinement is still in progress for this design.
