| Hardly an original work, Lady was
modeled from a picture of a sculpture by Alexander Calder. "Seeing
this Calder sculpture in a book in 1991 was a defining moment
for me. I knew if I could capture in my life just a smidgen
of the childlike, playful attitude captured in this and his
other work, I would be a much happier and more complete person.
Although a copy, it seemed like a fitting tribute." |

The first publicly displayed kinetic sculpture of the artist,
this is representative of the artist's short-lived fascination
with clocks. "This piece was a intended to represent
the continuous groove of motion and energy that only The Artist
(Prince) could produce through his jams. A colossal failure
on that level, at least it made a really swell gift to a cello
playing friend."
